CRWorks, Inc. Youth Program
CRWorks, Inc services to youths include after school and summer tutoring geared toward increasing youths academic achievement. Our tutoring program utilizes technology geared toward bridging the digital divide. We run a summer internship program titled "Take a Peek" geared toward exposing youths to the working environment and career opportunities.
Our work with youths has been widely acclaimed and supported by members of this community. Our successes include the "Build-A-PC" project where youths went through a PC technician program and built their own PC from scratch. We have also assisted many low-performing students to achieve letter grade increases in Math and Language Arts. In our first year of inception in 2002, we served 28 youths, we have since increased to 500 youths. The rapid growth is due to the effectiveness of our programs, based on a philosophy of involving all stakeholders in the process of educating our children.
The youths participating in a local (LIPP) Internship Job Placement Program which afford them the opportunity to gain work experience along with a great resume´ for future employment. The youth receive a stipend from CRWorks for work and participation in the LIPP program. They also attend supplemental education services provided by Career Resource Centers geared toward increasing student academic achievement.
